Losing 10g in 11 days is not a good sign if he is a baby. Especially combined with runny, really smelly poop. Sounds to me like parasites. How much did he weigh before? Maybe someone else with more knowledge on BPs can chime in on it but using the guideline for boas as well as bearded dragons which I have both of and have had awhile, losing that much weight in such a short time assuming the animal is only a couple hundred grams to start with as well as the runny, smelly poop is warning signs of parasites and probably a vet visit.

    Hey Greg,

Please take him to your vet tomorrow. More than likely, a cloacal wash would reveal Trichomonas under a microscope. He needs metronidazole immediately or it will kill him. Have a vet mix up the proper dosing if that is what he finds. You will more than likely dose with a tube of the appropriate size.

If you have a newb reptile vet, properly dosing metronidazole cannot harm your snake. At this point, it may be your only option to save him.

Depending on his overall size (which I know nothing about based on this thread), they don't have much time from the time they start with frequent running bowels. Dosing can be stressful but balls can rebound within days of first dosing and start eating again.

Trichomoniasis is transferable, so please quarantine accordingly. Mixing rats he didn't eat perhaps with others, you might have a larger problem. However; all curable with metronidazole (flagyl)

ok. so back from the vet. i guess he had worms pretty bad from the very small amount of poo they got out of him. but gave him meds and gave me meds to give him the next 5 days. so im hoping he will start feeling better. he is going to go back in to the vet in 2 weeks for another check up just to make sure everything else is looking normal. :) thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it.

Just another update. Gave George his meds this morning. Left him alone all day after that and threw a hopper in at dark and came back 20 mins and the hopper was nowhere to be found. Only 4 more days of meds, but he seems to be doing better.
