    I've had one or two of mine bite themselves, but they always turn loose in a hurry.

    I believe I'd have been just as freaked out as you were, and I've had snakes for years. My advise would be to keep a dollar store spray bottle near his tub so if he does it again you can hopefully spray his face and make him turn loose.

    I don't blame you one bit for panicking a little though, I would have done the same thing.
