    Re: Must have morphs?
I have been down the route of having one of everything. Now I am starting again and just buying what i like. I am deciding to please myself rather than think about what the current fashion is. People go bananas about fashionable paint jobs. For me the must have' gene is pied. Everything looks better as a pied but I realise that is just me and I think too many people collect what they think they ought to have rather than what they wish to keep.

I like alot what i have in my collection, the only gene's i am realy looking for to add in the future are cinnamon, axanthic, GHI and maybe banana but that is what i like and with those added to what i already have, i'll be able to make so many of the designer morphs i would like to make/have. Alot of people want enchi but i am not a big fan of enchi though they look great in some combo's

I like a variety of morphs but ones that that can really change when combined with another morph are awesome. I bought my coral glow male and calico female specifically to make calico glows. They look amazing and there doesn't seem to be many around.

You should keep the morphs you find the most attractive, regardless of what other individuals say. Look through photos of different morphs and see what you find the most appealing.

The beauty of it is that there are so many choices out there everyone's list is probably a little different. I personally like working with Pieds, Clowns, Mystics and lessers

I cannot argue with many of the "enhancer genes" people have already posted but, really it comes down to working with animals you want.
You can maintain a passion for animals you enjoy far longer than by chasing fads or what other people want.
    You must ask yourself,
Are you more interested in funky pattern mutations or, are you more interested in colour mutations?
What types of colour mutations appeal to you the most? Darker animals, washed out animals, lighter animals, or higher contrast animals?
How much money are you willing to invest in a single animal?
How much time are you willing to tie up in a project?(this will help sort out if recessive is a good route or more of a focus on co-dom and dominant is better for you)

Then you will be busy hunting down the absolute best animals of the types you like and can afford and you'll be off to the races.

My personal must haves are Enchi, Fire, Mojave, Specter, Yellowbelly, Orange Dream, Pinstripe, Genetic Stripe, Lesser/Butter, MJ Axanthic, Pied, Clown, Blade, GHI and as they become more affordable, Sunset and Bamboo.

I think that the must have single genes are Mojave, pastel, spider or pin and ghi

    CD CONSTRICTORS
Not putting recessives into play- Enchi, Fire, YB and Butter.

I think of it this way.... What if I could only use single gene males? What would make female "x" look nicer?
