First Season Ever - Pairing Recommendations?

I've been thinking about the Pastel Clown x Spider pairing. Since she's a proven girl and laid a clutch last season (Coral Glow Enchi x Spider by Cooper's Constrictors), would you still pair her with the Pastel Clown? What about the possibility of retained sperm when guaranteeing hets?

Diapause is a fairly uncommon occurence. In this case you shouldn't have to worry since the Coral Glow and Enchi phenotypes look different enough from the Pastel they will be easy to pick out. And only the Pastels will be het. Clown so there shouldn't need to be any uncertainty.
