I have bred 1100 grams females in the past that were finicky eaters and they still went on to lay eggs just fine it also triggered their appetite and they went from picky eater / fasting snakes to ravenous age in my decision of breeding those was the main factor.

i did want to pair her this season but am a bit scared to do so because she looks thin to me, and my bf said i cant do that because we dont have the space for the babies or an incubator for the eggs :( ill get a pic of her up along with her weight too. i just dont want her to starve herself to death either. my male also skipped his last 2 feedings too but he went into a shed and finished sheding last night, ill try feeding him tonight.

i tried feeding her tonight and im happy to say that she took a small rat :D shes supposed to be on mediums so i gave her another small rat after she was done with the first one, took a few tries to get her to take the 2nd one though. i didnt feed her for 2 weeks so that may have made her eat, ill see if she will continue to eat for me and ill have updates on how she is doing.

im happy to say that she ate for me agan tonight, she took a medium rat while shes IN SHED! didnt know she was in a shed till i lifted her hide to feed her but im happy she took a meal. i have been inticing her to eat by rubbng the head of the rat on her neck/jaw area and she grabs it pretty quick, i think ill continue this method if she becomes a problem feeder again, im glad i found a way to get her to eat again :D now if i can get my male to eat that would be great, he skipped his last 2 or 3 meals, he even shed last week and refused a rat after he shed.

My female mojave has been eating for me everytime now and even gained back the weight she lost and then some, shes 1,482 Grams now :D she takes her food really quick, as soon as she smells it she sticks her head out of her hide and strikes it. im so happy shes eating again and ill be able to breed her next season too :D only thing that bugs me now is that my male isnt eating xD hes a very finiky eater but i know he will start eating again soon since its not the first time he has kept refusing food, he did it quite a bit when he was smaller. just thought i would give an update on her progress :)
