I'm at work so I can't just go look at it. It's a BAH1000 but I don't remember the brand name. I got it from a friend and it was new in box

A BAH-1000 is definitely not a Herpstat. It's a simple on/off style thermostat, not a proportional thermostat like the good quality, reliable ones (like Herpstats are).

Like I said, I couldn't remember the name of it. I've heard this was a suitable thermostat and I didn't have the money to buy one over $100 since I just spent all the money to build the rack

Sounds like alot of people You get the best you can with the Funds available and look forward to upgrade your heart's in the right Place

Not long. Maybe a few hours? It was weeks ago, they're all fine now as far as I can tell. No one is acting strange or different at all
