    First shed!
I tried that and he's not dehydrated. At least from what you've said anyway.

Yeah, I thought he looked a bit thin to me too. But he's looking good nonetheless. :) Love the pattern. Good luck with him. :)

Oh, and bpbabe, I think her teacher works with cows because she's a vet tech..so her teacher is teaching the vet practice..hence the cows. :)

    Close one last night
Remember guys/gals, he's just a baby. He's supposed to be small ;). Often times it is very difficult to judge size and weight by pictures.

The thing that tips me off the snake is probly not eating or has a parisite load is the last third of the body being considerably thinner in proportion to the head and the rest of the body.
A healthy, feeding juvie will have a nice thick rounded looking last third
when buying from a pet shop always ask to see the animal feed if they wont , dont buy ... .A non feeder only complicates things in the even that you do have parasites.. hard to run a fecal without ....the feces , and treatment takes its toll on under weight animals much more quickly

That's what I was noticing Robert. He didn't have the normal "baby fat". Most of the parasites snakes can get either feed off of what the snakes eat which makes them lose weight from not getting adequate nutrition, or the parasites attach themselves to the walls of the intestines and suck blood, making the snake anemic, and in a baby, that is not good. If when the snake goes to the bathroom, and it's runny, it's a sure sign of parasites. He may have parasites, but still have firm feces. But if no poo occurs, I don't think the vet is going to want to stick a fecal loop up the snake's hiney. Poor little guy. If he does eat for you, that's great. :) Good luck with him :-D

BPbabe, yes my teacher does play with cows. Our Longhorns are the most personable cows I've ever been around. We also have 2 Longhorn calves that were born a day apart and also a Black Angus baby born a few days ago. So cute :) I got to hold the first LH baby trying to get him to call to his mom. LoL
