Here, I feed after we've had dinner. It's convenient and they seem to really take to the schedule. (Though I do feed QT snakes much later in the evening, when I know I'm done with everyone else.) They seem to consistently start begging right around 4pm.

I could not ask for a better feeding response even with him about to shed, is there a reason why he is shedding again so soon?

While I have fed snakes at different times of the day, I have noticed they are most active at night. I usually feed in the evenings because that just when I have the opportunity to. But naturally, I would assume that since they are more active at night, that's when they would be more ready to eat.

That's exactly what I do. Right around 1900hrs PST, I get the rats nice and toasty.

Many snake species aren't nocturnal but rather crepiscular, meaning they are active during dusk and dawn. What is "night" to you? Is night right before your bedtime, perhaps 11pm? Or is night like "middle of the night" (which is actually more early morning) around like 2-3 am?

Personally I feed in late evening, usually around 10pm, because that's when everybody gets active. I think day time feeding might throw the snakes off -- or at least one of them would ignore it -- and I ain't got time to feed no body when I come home from work at 3am, not even myself.

Even so, the snakes are back hiding or sleeping when I do get home from work at 3am, so there you go.
