Here are some pictures of what I think are mites but could just be substrate, and the last picture of that scale, what's up with that? She's deep into shed so Idk if that has anything to do with it.

I think the speck is substrate... but the picture needs better focus. As I said, I use a magnifier to check since a lot of things look like "mites". Unless you see it move - then you know it's a mite.

As for the scale, sometimes they get damaged. A shed should fix it.
