Re: New tank, humidity issues! HELP!
Mine is 36x18x18 and this is my setup. I am using a repti fogger by zoo med on a timer every 45 minutes to add humidity. I'm using two bulbs and two uths. I have a 100W and 75W CHE in the lamps. And I have a thermostat controlling my uths. All of this combined keeps my cool side at 75 and hot side at 80 with ground temperatures of 90 and 80.

Well what i was thinking was getting plexiglass to cover most of the top and getting new thermometers and a new hygrometer. the ones i got were pretty cheap. I heard that the plexiglass will hold heat abd humidity.

Definitely will. Duct tape and foil is cheaper and less of a hassle in my opinion, but everyone does it their own way. Either way I wish you the best of luck

The pet store you went to is crazy and stupid then. Get a zoo Med thermostat if you're looking for an affordable way to maintain it. Make sure you have a infrared thermometer so you can measure the temp of the surface. I put the thermostat probe in the substrate near my UTH and turned it down until my thermometer on the hot spot read 90°

Air temp you need a digital thermometer/hygrometer, and the infrared thermometer gun will do the floor temp. The gun is an absolute must.
