Re: What hides are you using for large adults
We use an enclosed rack system and do not typically use hides. For the shy eaters we put a bunch of crumpled newspaper in with them to make them feel more secure, and have observed them eating more often with the crumpled newspaper.

May have to order some of those from reptile basics. They look like they could help hold a little heat and humidity as well. Easy to clean looks like a plus also.

Another plug for reptile basics, I have a variety on hand to rotate through. Not natural looking but do the job and easy to clean.

I'm currently experimenting with 6 qt tubs for the bigger guys that are 1600+ and my 6 foot rat snake.
Are they in a rack system. after 600+ grams most of mine dont even need them anymore, Being there tub is a hide.

My male that's about to hit 800g likes these all living things tree trunks from petsmart. They are a perfect fit for him it seems. http://m.petsmart.com/h5/hub?id=rept..._id%3D36-15102
I have offered him the half logs, caves, and reptile basics hides but he likes the tree trunks. Unfortunately for him I think he'll just have to deal with the reptile basics ones since he'll probably be too big for the trunks soon. :D
