I do 90 days, at a friend's house, and that's from trustworthy sellers. Since this pair came with mites goodness knows what else they were exposed to before they were sold.

They just had their first treatment. I will still try to contact a rescue. They are in a seperate room from my collection and i will be checking and treating them at night before I shower. They were only in my reptile room for a few minutes in a lidded container. I am not used to this. I try to do the right thing and get myself in a mess. What are other signs of illness I need to look out for? Anything else common with rescues?

Just an update. I found a nice man to take the two snakes. They were kept in my kitchen for a few days as far away as they could be from my collection in a small apartment. I sanitized everything around where they were. Glad they have a good home now though. What precautions should I take with my collection, just keep am eye on them in case?

Mites travel, IIRC they can manage about a foot per hour, and they navigate by smell. If you have any of the mite spray left, apply it to the carpet, walls, and door frame just outside your snake room to create a barrier in case some of the mites laid eggs in the room where the rescues were.

Also, if you can seal off the room the rescued snakes were in, leave a "No Pest Strip" in there for a few hours with the doors shut, that will kill off all of the creepy crawlies in no time (assuming you don't keep your own insects or arachnids in there!).

What kinds of illnesses can be airborne? RI? Should I also watch my collection for this just in case? Not sure how common that is.
