You totally missed my point. This has nothing to do with Normals being worthless. My first BP was a Normal and she's still my favorite one. What you're doing is encouraging someone to produce singe gene animals and Normals that they're going to have a hard time selling and most likely will sell at a low price further lowering the price of Normals and single gene animals. Instead, the OP should get ONE 2-3 gene female and breed her with the Lesser.

THIS is exactly what's wrong with the BP community. Let's buy 20 snakes for the cheapest price possible and then let's breed them all together! Just because you CAN buy 4 animals for $200 bucks, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Quality over quantity.

Whoa slow down there hoss, There are some good snakes besides your HIGH QUALITY ones. IF that is what you wanna breed, and you have the money to do then Whoopty Doo for you. But don't think everyone has money to buy your high quality, high dollar morphs. I only buy for pets, and would rather have ten good pets as one high dollar morph

Affordable single gene ball pythons isn't whats wrong with with the BP community...

I'm in Oregon so keep that in mind as that might be why I have formed some of these opinions, I don't live in a high density snake breeding state. If I wanted to buy a ball python in person my options are dismal with only a handful of good reptile stores in the state. The 1 reptile store that I know of sells Pastels for about 180 and Mojaves for about 350. I am guessing at the prices but I think it's close to accurate. The quality of those animals is decent but not too good.

I could go on craigslist and get a low-medium quality pastel for 70-120 dollars or buy online from a breeder for roughly 100 dollars AND pay 50 dollars for shipping. With 2 snakes, that could be around 160 dollars extra for 2 pastels that will sell for the same price locally no matter the quality. The breeders quality would be 1-2 generations better I assume depending on who you buy from and how they produced the pastel (I could elaborate more but I wont yet...). If you pick the correct snakes and do your research into this hobby then within a few breeding seasons you could be making quality animals that you can then sell online for the cost every one else is asking. The lower to mid quality animals that you produce in the mean time goes to other low budget potential breeders. These low budget potential breeders could help shape the future of the business/hobby. This creates more buyers of the 2+ gene snakes in the long run.

If only people that had the money and desire to jump into the hobby with 2+ gene snakes spending at least 600 got into the hobby then I wouldn't see this many breeders with collections growing every year and in some cases doubling, it's all over youtube from their mouths so I know it's happening. I do not at all believe that the market is saturated in anything besides normals. If this guy wants to breed a low quality lesser to low quality females at a low quality price so be it. I hope that the animals find great homes where they will be taken care of, that's my only concern. IMO of course :)

Your post doesn't even make sense. First of all, the OP is obviously looking into breeding and not just getting these animals as pets. Secondly, no one is saying the OP should buy expensive morphs. He can just spend the same money to buy a better quality animal instead of 3 of the same ones. And if you're going take it there, if you don't have a couple of hundred bucks to spare, then you shouldn't breed at all. What are you going to do if one of those animals gets sick or gets hurt? :confusd::confusd::confusd:

But hey, sorry that I'm buying all these million dollar morphs... I'm just ballin out of control like that.
