For reference I use 1 inch gorilla(glue) tape and it will not lift. It will peel up on your effort but the tubs slide right over it. Aluminum tape will lift and after a while can possibly cause a short. Electricity + metal tape is going to conduct so I opt for gorilla tape. No residue either.
I have never had any foil tape ever lift if the surface it was applied to was cleaned first.
