With my girls I usually start pairing them 8 months after they ovulate. For most of my females, this gives them enough time to lay and get back up to weight before pairing again. The result is my females normally lay the same month every year. If the female isnt in optimal condition after the 8 months, I hold off until Im more comfortable with her weight. Whenever she looks good, I start pairing again. With half my females that needed a little extra time, they start developing follicles within a few months of being paired late. The other half take the whole year off and end up going back to their regular schedule all by themselves.
