    Babies are much more likely to burrow, especially during the day. My neonate tubs have cypress mulch in them and they all hide in it. If I see one on top of the cypress it's usually when I do my last snake check just prior to going to bed.

    Once they get a bit older they are more likely to show off their climbing ability.

    Boas have very strong feeding responses, so I'd watch it just reaching into the tub. I tap train my guys and my snake hook is always the first thing to go into their cage. Once out, the stretching towards you is totally a boa thing. They're far more active and curious than ball pythons tend to be.
