This year I am proving out some PH Pieds that I produced and held back.

I have two more clutches in the incubator so we will see if they prove or not (not many eggs so it might take another season)
This year I am holding back some 100% Het Hypo 66% PH Pied and I am confident that they will prove ;)
When it comes to PH Pied hold back it is a safe gamble IMO

generally, recessives have absolutely no markers. none at all. how do you pick them? you pick the "normals" that look the best. or you pick based on the extra genes, or based on the quality of the extra genes. apart from that it is pure luck.
i think the following have absolutely no markers, and it is pure luck: albino, caramel, axanthic, hypo, lavender albino, candy, toffee, ultramel, genetic stripe. i could be wrong about one or two, i would not be very surprised if i would be wrong about genetic stripe.
so generally its pure luck. you cannot pick them out based on any markers when they are none, and thats generally the case.
I've noticed het Toffee/Candy have bright white borders around the alien heads. Same when picking out Toffinos/Candinos. Het Ultramels have a wierd belly thing going on. Het Axanthics when combined with some combos display muted colors as hatchlings.....some even look axanthic emerging from the egg. Het Pieds also express in many combos other than belly markers. The het Pied gene is expressed visually or in pattern manipulation.
All het Pieds....

See any correlation? Some of these were proven from possible hets.
