Yeah, I will feed it live mice next week. I bought the pinkies for my cornsnake really but I felt bad for the ballpython when I fed the cornsnake its first pinkie ever. So I gave it a try, Atleast it ate frozen food, people said they usually dont like frozen or dead.
And the bedding says Zoo tested, safe, non toxic etc. I dont think it is harmful but I could be wrong, I cant find it online, so I couldent show you what it is but if you rub it in your fingers it falls apart from all the dampness.

why are you going to feed it live if you already have it on frozen ?? how big is your snake ? mine is twenty inches and i feed her rat fuzzies. Maybe you can buy an adult mouse for you BP and feed him/her that.

Jay, I'd still be leary of that substrate - who knows what "zoo tested" means. Especially, if you don't know what it's made of. You'll learn soon that you have to be a bit skeptical of what a lot of petstore people tell you and what you buy (just because they say it's okay for reptiles doesn't always meaning it's so).
Also, if you already have your bp eating f/t - stick to it. He may not go back to f/t if you give him live. Don't give him live - you're lucky he took f/t right off. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean Tiger but it hasnt eaten any of the bedding i make sure it eats just the mouse no bedding stuck to it.
My bp is about 30 inches I would say, maybe even more hes pretty long(if it is a he I dont know lol) The petstore I go to doesn't sell larger frozen feeder mice, only pinkies :(. So I'll try live, but I wanted to know how to knock them out or something I dont want the mouse to bite my bp I heard the snake would be terrified of eating mice ever again if it bites him(I would too if my hamburger or pizza bit me). Thanks for all your help guys

i like to give the rats a tiny gun with just one bullet....er um.. dry ice and water.. poof smoke. death! do it inside an aquarium or some sort of tupperware that will hold the fog. i hate pointy substrate. i used cyprus mulch kind, and it was way too many sticks for my liking. i thought they would poke an eye out or something. then i would have to get a tiny eye patch.

just order frozen rats from online, try rodent pro, if your bp is thirty inches then im almost SURE he/she could be eating rat fuzzies, mine is and she is 10 inches shorter than yours
or if you want you can whack the rat, put it in a bag and then whack it aainst somthing hard and make sure it is dead before you feed it to your BP you dont want it to come back to life , if you dont whack it hard enough the rat will come back to life becuase you basicly just stunned it.

One last comment and I'll drop it: just because he hasn't eaten any yet, doesn't mean he wont. And how will you stop it if it happens - it may be too late. Also, our concern is not only that he will injest it. Our concern is that you don't really know what it is. Some substrates can be toxic.
A prekilled mouse is better than a live one - if you can't get the frozen. You might also try a local reptile show (that's where I get my frozen feeders) or your local herp society. Those online companies were too expensive for me - especially by the time shipping was added. Although, as my collection grows I may look at them again.

Lol, wouldent its guts splatter inside the bag? Thats gross.

It's really not hard at all to whack a mouse inside a bag against the driveway, a tree, even a countertop and kill it. One good medium swing (too light and you've just hurt it, too hard and it's a mess) and you have supper ready.
