Is it okay to use a moonlight instead of a red light? I just like the blue color better than the red

i think its a normal/classic, and BPs can see blue light really really well. their eyes are most efficient in green-blue, blue, and near ultraviolet.

buying BPs out of pity is a bit controversial because a bad store will replace the BP immediately and then treat the next one in just the same way until someone else buys it out of pity.

im sure it will be a nice pet once you fix the issue with the stuck shed :)

So should I buy the blue over the red? We have wanted a snake for some time we just fell inlove with this one so we are not just buying a snake out of pitty she just has been there for a long time and I feel sorry for her being cramped.

Red would be the best choice. They always seem to last the longest too. When buying the day/night bulb two pack I always end up with extra reds and no clears. I have been using reds on some cages just trying to burn through them but they just won't die.

Right now I have a hood lamp that goes all the way across i planned on getting the daylight bulbs in it and then getting the red light and put it in the lamp stand?

if you dont want the snake to think that its daylight 24/7, red for the night it is, or no night light at all.

    Be careful with petsmart snakes...

I had one for about a month then returned it cause of the baggage. Luckily it still had its free vet policy. Needless to say I went back to the drawing board, went to a reptile show made a contact and bought from a reputable local dealer and have zero issues with this snake.

Choose a snake you like and it may very well be this snake. I learned my lesson and always recommend going to a reptile show first. Buy a cage set it up and get everything balanced out and normalized first.
