i told ya i apologized and the petland i went to i said has some of the nicest set ups i have evr seen. and the people that work their are actually educated when it comes to reptiles. i know i was immature and i feel kinda stupid now that my big 24 year old brither hammered me witha 2 hr long lecture.

Petland is a chain, and often times I've seen their dog care as well as herp care be very iffy. They'll probably just get sold faster, so they're in bad conditions for less time.
I was in petland today and they had about 5 rtb's and 3 ball pythons in the SAME cage!! One of the balls was dehydrated and they had absolutely no hides nor humidity. And to think that they stay in business... Geeze.

    Petland....
Its funny you cause mentioned Petland, because theres a Petland Discount in Brooklyn, New York ... located on Kings Highway.
I'd never buy ANY pets from that store, they their husbandry is horrible.
The only thing I ever bought from them was crickets.

just got my new rack !
I never heard of Petland before the discussions here, but it turns out there's one 45 minutes or so from here at the other end of the county, so I might have to go check them out.

i heard those frogs are very aggressive , are they, or can you tame them ?? do you feed it mice ??
These frogs can be a bit aggressive when they're younger, but they are not really nasty or anything. They are definately not a pet to be handled; the oils on our skin are very harmful to amphibians, since their skin is so porous and they absorb water through it.
Some people do feed mice to their horned frogs, but I don't because they are too high in fat and really not necessary. I feed Benny almost exclusively on nightcrawlers, with an occasional large cricket or two. Once in a great while I'll give him a rat pinkie, just for variety.
Frogs are not for everyone. They cannot be handled like our snakes can. But they are really neat to watch and are REALLY fun to feed!
Anymore info you want, ask away.

Also, I went to a Petland up in Ontario. It was not a bad store, but I don't rememebr them having any reptiles really, maybe a few firebelly toads and newts. If my memory serves me well, they had this huge pond full of koi goldfish where you could buy fish food out of a machine and feed the fish.
