I'd also pass on it. It looks like sand, but I don't know exactly what it is(pic's small..and my eyes suck ;)). The main thing that turned me off of it though, was the package saying "Desert Blend". When I think desert, I think dry. And bp's thrive in humidity, so a substrate that's for a dry-environment reptile probably wouldn't be best for a reptile that's found in humid areas of Africa. I'd use newspaper before I used something like that. Just my opinion though. :)
Edit: Did a quick search for this Desert blend substrate...seems it's crushed walnut shells, used to substitute sand.
