Best Mid Range morphs to invest in?

If you have more than one snake you have a favorite. Be honest we are all in it for the money, some of us just are in it for the money to afford new snakes :D Pick something you like and do the best you can with.

Easy...breed the ones that you like. Then sell the ones you don't want to keep.

I only hatch one or two clutches a year...I've never figured it out, but I imagine after all the expenses were factored, I'm pretty sure I'm in the red...so mark me down for "not in it for the money"...:D

if you can get a smoking hot black pastel female, where the pattern really screams "i am a black pastel", then that is quite something. or maybe one of these goldblush mojaves, its just mojave + goldblush, not even properly proven out so far, but damn, they have some awesome optics going. or how about some excellent line of champagne.

first things first: you have to know what you like, and why.

Dont be afraid of saying that your in it for the money either. "In it for the money" is not mutually exclusive from "I love my animals and want to see them go to the best homes."

Theres a lot of folks that think "In it for the money" is synonymous with a bad guy on the BOI board. In the long run this couldnt be further from the truth. The folks that are making the big bucks have top notch facilities and have found the best ways to satisfy customers. Also, from my observation the standards for keeping exotics has only risen over the years. There is a much stronger voice out there for keeping your animals correctly. If you want to satisfy customers, you'd best listen to that voice.

I define mid range as breaking even'ish...

I agree with what most people are saying. I am about a year out from starting a breeding for leisure project, but I LOVE the Calider and will spend most my effort in producing those and bee's. Beautiful animals.

I am not going to be in it for the profit, but I hope to get some BA snakes to keep and sell the rest to pay for the feed and electric bill. =)

Now... fast forward a decade... I'll be in it for the love of getting a rare $30K + morph. =)

To me mid range is $500.00 -$1000.00 there is a lot to be had for that price range. Stuff that seems popular are things like Pieds, enchi combo's, Calico stuff, and pretty much anything super.

While true, my favorite BP has less to do with the morph value (Mohave male) and more because of his personality. Unlike my other BP's who only tolerate handling to varying degrees, he will pop out of his tub, climb partway onto your arm, and just chill there.

I'd say pieds, clowns, calicos, and agree with enchi combos too. I personally love clowns and pieds. Both are recessives, so if you could invest in visuals for both parents you wouldn't have to worry about producing hets.

I would def say Pieds/Lessers/Pastels/Bumblebees would be the easy/good way for mid range.

and who doesnt love bumblee/lesserbees/queenbee's/killerbees!

all of which snakes sell for less then 600-700$ (most cases) and can produce very nice clutches (and other then pied to x ***) you wont get to many normals! without getting good Het/Duel hets!
