I say go for it :) so long as the rocks or what have you aren't sharp. Even then some can be sanded down. Depending on the items will depend on the cleaning method. Woods should be baked, as previously mentioned. Stones and whatnot can be bleached.

It is the live plants and things that you really need to watch out for, as some can be dangerous to your snake's health. But again as mentioned, whatever items you introduce, make *sure* they are cleaned thorough as to not introduce harmful bacteria or whatnot.

    All the best!

Well i said shouldnt, because alot of people DONT do 100% process to clear all outside critters.. So i gave him what iv read and done, to remove ALL types of parasites to give 100% nice piece,

I've only had snakes for seven months but use outdoor sourced materials. For the wood, I first made sure it was not toxic for the snakes by looking online. Then, For the rocks and wood, put them in a freezer overnight. The next day i soaked them in a bleach and water solution for an hour or so, scrub with a brush and then all in the oven at 350f for 1 to 1-1/2 hours.

Let them cool off for an hour or two and they are ready to use. I repeat the bleach and bake once a month.

My BPs are always hanging out on the branches and use the rocks when they shed.
