    Hi,

As T&C said they often do not breed right after a move anyway so I think you're right to decide to QT and try later. :)

I can't remember the thread but one big breeder moved and had a rotten season because of it.

Plus, this way, you get to monitor her feeding and condition so you will know if trying to breed her is a good idea or not.

    quarantine is useful.

one thing you can do, if you want to risk it: put her in quarantine, as well as the male you want to pair her with. that way, you risk the health of one of your males, but its still shielded from the rest of the collection. when you do that, both need to ride out the quarantine, and to be able to seperate them it means you need 2 enclosures in quarantine. thats definitively possible and would not violate the rules of quarantine, as long as both do the full quarantine.

but i have to say it also depends on where you got it. if its from a highly reputable breeder who only works with BPs, and not purchased at a reptile show (reptile shows spread stuff around), maybe you can get away with cutting corners. its a risk. it also depends on the size and nature of the whole collection. with hundreds of snakes, i would say no way, bumping a male into quarantine to give her some company is an option, cutting corners is not. if the rest of the collection consists of 5 more BPs, then its conceivable that the risk associated with cutting corners in quarantine may be acceptable.

also keep in mind that BPs can breed and produce clutches year-round. so you will not lose a full year just by following proper quarantine procedures. if you really dont want to wait, sending a male into quarantine with her seems most reasonable.
