    This is a bit of an exaggeration. As others have said, maternal incubation can work just fine if you do your homework. We allow all our females to maternally incubate (I'm sure everyone is tired if hearing that by now, sorry).

    As far as incubators go, they are easy to build. You just need a heat source, thermostats (a backup is a good idea), and an insulated container (a cooler, mini fridge, refrigerator....). Or you can buy a hovabator (I have never used one, so I have no advice on using one).
