    I have cheapo's in every tub just to get a general idea so I can easily tell if temps are off but I also check with an infra red therm every time I replace my tub liners.

    That's what i do. i run an electric oil filled heater that's hooked up to another thermostat to keep the room around 80-82f

    I use an AP rack system. The probe is adjacent to the rear bottom mounted heat tape. A semi full tub of substrate is above the probe. I check temps 2x daily with a temp gun (ryobi $30 home depot) I also have cheap analog stick ons one the inside of each tub and one external digital thermometer on the outside front of the rack.
