Yeah, one of the inherent dangers of having people over to see your snakes. :? I had a friend from my theatre troupe over to see the girls, and she really wanted to see Vash. I was a little hesitant, but figuring it'd been 3 days since she'd eaten, she was safe to handle very briefly. Meh, apparently not. Vash was out for maybe 20 minutes while I cleaned her tank, and even in her holding box I think it was too much activity after being fed. She made a big nasty puke in her water bowl, and a separate, smaller calcium (I believe) dribble outside her hide. (The substance was white, and after drying crumbled like pure Ca will. Yes, I analyze my snakie puke, the mark of a true science geek.)
She's hanging out in her cool hide now, recuperating. I'm gonna leave her another few days before offering feed again so she can calm down.

Let us know how it goes? :) And as for analyzing snakie puke, i'm almost right there with ya. I am currently in the process of learning how to do fecal samples myself. I've got a very good friend who graduated with a vet degree a couple of months ago, and he is going to start teaching me the ropes ( so to speak ). The practice he works for now specializes in exotic species of all kinds, which is perfect. The only drawlback is that he is about 2 hours away. Oh well ... its worth the trip to learn how to do some of this myself.

I suspect that "calcium" was just a wee bit of urates. :D

I considered that too, Marla, it was odd though: definitely a puddle rather than a lump, like usual urates are. It was pure white too, with no trace of slight yellowish tinge that her usual poos have. I didn't save the puddle, just looked at it and scratched it a little. I would have brought it into the lab, but I didn't think they'd be a big fan of that: "Oh, hi Tracie, what are you doing?" "Using school equipment to test something my snake barfed up." "Oh, alright then."

LOL, see, that's when you have to answer more creatively. "I'm analyzing a reptile expulsion for a side project," might get you an odd look instead of a request to leave the lab. :)

Hope all is well - I have used Provent-A-Mite in the past for a pretty bad mite infestation and it worked really well in conjunction with the soaks.

Here's some good mite info as well: http://vpi.com/9VPITipsAndTechs/TheW...SnakeMites.htm
