She has a respiratory infection and what they believe to be tumors in the lower half of her body so the vet had me do a CBC... They had the CBC and the pathologist (one of the best there is I guess) said that she had it. :[

Thank you everyone for your condolences. I am still having such a hard time believing it. She goes in on Sunday and I know it is for the best not only for her but my other snakes. When I see her though she seems like her normal self besides the wheezing/clicking and bumps on her lower half. I am so worried the rest of my snakes have it now as well. I am having a hard enough time dealing with knowing that in a few days she will be gone I can't imagine losing the rest of them as well.

As for everyone else who has snakes with this disease or have to put to sleep in general I am so sorry. It is such a terrible feeling. The funny part is that 3 years ago I was terrifed of snakes to the point where seeing one made so full of anxiety I would sick. Now I can't stop crying and I am so full anxiety because I know she won't be in my life anymore.

We are unsure and there is no way of telling now. We hoping that if any of the other snakes have IBD it shows on the CBC because it doesn't always show up on it even if they do have it. Sooo... Not that I am in the mood to have any new snakes for awhile now but it seems like I won't be getting any new boids for a while now.

I'm so very sorry to read the news about your girl. Losing an animal is never easy.

There's a new molecular PCR blood test for IBD that was developed by the University of Florida that is supposed to be more accurate than the CBC. Blood samples have to be submitted by a veterinarian. The lab's web site is http://labs.vetmed.ufl.edu/sample-re...ed-infections/ if you want blood tests done on the rest of your collection so you have a better idea of where they all stand. They suggest two tests 90 days apart to reduce the chance of false negative results.
