oh yeah it is shedding time.
ok the chip thing is alright with me i pretty much diserve it for being so immature but i guess this place really isn't for jokes or anything just info and serious discussions but i would like to say that besides the thumb war i did try to put in my opinion on certain topics and maybe a few smart remarks to stop people from being sos serious all the time but i see that is not really tolerated here. oh yeah and for the record i didn't post anything to get my ranking up that thumb war thing was just spur of the moment but i will try to redeem my appropriate rank by putting the smart remarks and jokes to a hault and simply just share knowledge.

There is a place for jokes ... i really dont think we are all that up tight ;). The rank was more to try to cut down on the thread hijacking and the multiple posts about the same thing in two or more places. We all like to have a good time and joke around, we ( staff ) were just trying to cut down on some of the "spam" we were seeing as a result of multiple posts about the same thing in multiple places. Questions should be asked in the appropriate forums, if not, staff moves them to the correct places. However when you ( meaning anybody ) post the same question in 4 different forums ( exageration, but you get the idea ), it makes our jobs a bit harder.

Please dont think we are all up tight and trying to come down hard on our members. Far from it. We just want to make this place a great community and a great place to hang out. We like having each and everyone of our members here. Our members make this place great. However, people spamming up the same questions in multiple places at the same time, and multiple posts right after another asking another question ( thats what the edit button is for ), just makes us look like we ( all of us ) dont know what we are doing.

sorry. i must have done that without noticing. i get frustrated sometimes when my questions aren't answered quickly.(I am so impacient) i know u guys aren't real up tight just one question, was this rank for the thumb war or something else that i did that i can't remember? just wanna know what caused it so i can refrain from doing so again. and i really apologize to the whole staff for making ur jobs harder than they really have to be.
and since u guys have a sense of humor if ya look at my avatar u really put a chip on reeses shoulder lol.

I don't think it's an issue of people not having a sense of humor, just that it be well-placed. It's hard to keep *any* BBS thread on track, and b-p.net is just trying hard to keep things on the subject. Aside from that (and I'm not pointing ANY fingers here, please don't think I am, I had no one specifically in mind when I made these examples) posting things like one-word responses, "updates" on a feed/shed situation without editing the posts so there are 5 posts in a row, and replying to every single post in a thread without adding any new information can really clog up the board. We really want to hear about everyone's herps and are excited when things go well, but a new thread to tell us all that your BP kinda almost pooped and had a tail wiggle but didn't exactly poop but he will soon WHEE I'm so excited....isn't exactly necessary, know what I mean? ;)
I've been posting an awful lot lately, and to tell you the truth I was kinda worried that I'd get CHiP status because of it.
Question for the mods...is the "off-topic posts" rule less strictly enforced in the Lounge? To be honest, if it isn't, IMHO it should be. That's the one non-herp room in the forum, and it's the one place for my attention span (which is about <thisbig> by the way) to run around. ;)

oh when i do things like that i really do it out of excitement and anxiousness(once again the impacience) i will stop this as of right now! but u have to admit the chip on reeses's shoulder is kinda ironic.

Brian, I don't think anyone's trying to yell at you for it; I think the mods introduced the CHiP system more for *your* information than anything else. I know you've been trying, I can see that. Don't worry.
And I enjoyed the CHiP on the shoulder comment. ;)

Its definitely more for everyone's information. We just ask that you keep your posts in the correct place and on the topic at hand :) We are not trying to yell or condone anyone at all.
