Trust me, if I had had any idea she was going through Memphis I would not have shipped no matter how much she cost. I was not "bugging", I had no idea this would happen. If she was closer I would have picked her up, but a 16 hour round trip isn't feasible right now.

SHES ALIVE! Extremely cold and pretty sluggish but alive. I've put her in a tub with the hot spot off to start letting her warm up without shocking her.

BTW it went to Memphis because that is was the closest sorting hub (1 of many around the country) to FL. of course shipping from wash state it would not go to Memphis and back.

I guess we can all chalk your experience up as a lesson learned. I certainly hope your new girl makes a full recovery, and I'm sure many of us will now be doing a search to find out where our nearest FedEx sorting hub is.

Fed ex won't tell you what hub any package will go to for sorting. sometimes if the closest one is "full" it will go to the next closest hub...

I'm learning the hard way that's not the case now that I'm in Florida. I was still shocked that there wasn't a heat pack even before I discovered she was going through the central hub. At this point I don't know if the shipper knew she was going to go through Memphis or not.

    Not your fault.

Any responsible breeder knows that they need to check the temperature in 3 locations before shipping (origin, central hub, destination) , which is why you should know the different central hubs.

This help knowing where the package goes (of course there are more central hubs.)
