What T's do you reccommed as a starter one. I really like the Mexican Redknee. I know they can kick hairs but I hear that they rarely bite and are extremely docile. I also think they are great looking, and one of the least intimidating out there! Although it seems they need a lot of substrate and burrow and awful lot. Maybe not ideal.
It's going pretty good so far. A mexican red knee would be a great first. It's on my wishlist because I love their coloring lol. Most of the terrestrial species require a lot of substrate. Some like to burrow yeah but its recommended to be deep for most of them so if they climb the glass and fall they won't fall far and have less chance of hurting themselves.

I think a Mexican Redknee is going to be my first if I take the plunge. Would destroying their burrows during a substrate change not stress them out or will they just think they are in a new place and start to burrow again?

Yeah, I did read that when they get bigger they normally give up burrowing and just hide. Good to hear! I am really excited haha!

I most definately will. Just gotta wait for my dad to move out and me to take the flat over so I can get one. He will never let me have one of them in the house with him there :(

Yeah,waiting can be hard. In the mean time though you can watch some videos of smithis on youtube. I watched tons of spider videos before I got my first. This is the last one I watched before I got my G. rosea. No I didn't put a ball in with mine but it was cute to watch.
