Rex, the Petco near me has ball pythons and red tail boas.
They shouldn't be selling reptiles!

Last time I went there, the ten gallon tank was filled with about 5-8 ball pythons, with ONE hide, water dish dried empty, and tons of pieces of sheds all over the tank.

You can't talk to some of those pigheaded pet store people. (gee, that phrase would be a good starting line for a country song, no?) You tell them facts, like, say, keeping a ball python in with an anole is a bad thing, and they hike up their tight jeans and brag about how they own black mambas and their brother has a piebald boa constrictor (if they even know the term "piebald." Then they have like 5321 baby iguanas in a ten gallon tank (did you ever notice that those stores LOVE ten gallon tanks? They're cheap...) There are only a few local pet stores I am welcome in anymore, because I will not shut up and play nice when I see animals in crappy conditions.
