    Its all about the size of the prey to the size of your snake. Every snake is different. The sooner you can get to rats the better off you are.

    i feed my snake rats. roo should have been started a long time ago (over a year ago), and roswell just started too. he is about 6 months old. i am lucky that the local pet-kingdom (and it truly is) has all sized rats from newbies, fuzzies, hoppers, weenlings, and then it goes small med. large, jumbo. i can pick and choose the perfect size (till my breeding takes off). look for a rat thats just the right size. i dont know if roswell is a large snake, but i couldnt feed him newbies, fuzzies, weenlings, or hopper, they were all too small. i had to start with the small rats, and even the small ones looks like he will outgrow it in a month or 2 at the most. i will have to move to the med sized ones soon.

    Well my BP is going on 4 months old I believe so I've got a couple months to go :P
    I think she is eatting hopper mice. I'll measure her girth and check the hoppers at the store :P

    When she gets 6 months old though Im starting rats :P
