    congrats on finding your snake.

    to minimize the risk of it escaping again, i suggest you put some sort of lock on the enclosure. your ball python probably rubbed itself against the doors to shed its skin, and this rubbing motion is what opened your sliding door. my display cage also has sliding doors, i lock it by jamming a stick on the rails of the sliding doors, just long enough so there's no room for the doors to slide. i do not use the usual store bought lock for sliding glass because it's an eyesore to a realistic set-up, and my method cost me nothing.
