Rainbow or Hog Island?

    This is a very cool question as I am interested in both species as well.

    Not to take over the OP's thread, but a question regarding Hog's size... Does the variability of their size have anything to do with them not being "pure bred" Hog? I have heard that pure bred ones can be hard to find and many marketed as Hogs are in fact mixes.

    Yes, crosses are going to be larger than pure hogs. But I believe some pures just get bigger than others as well.

    Crosses will be bigger, naturally, but as is the case with localities, there are larger and smaller specimens outside the average. Variances are more common in localities because they are, after all, all of the same species. :gj:
