As for my husbandry and a posters earlier request for it...hot side 90 with belly heat...in a glass tank with foil over most the top...cool/ambient is 80.
Husbandry isnt my concern...every other snake I have is fine..including 5 other similarly sized/aged snakes.
This sounds a LOT like a baby I hatched this year (the one in my sig line named Nipper ;)). All of her siblings were perfectly polite, she was a little bite-a-saurus, I stopped counting after the first 20 strikes when I was washing the egg goo off her post-hatching. I avoided handing her unless absolutely necessary, and over time she realized that the world outside of her nice safe egg was actually not that scary and that being picked up didn't mean she was about to be eaten alive. It took her about 3 months to finally relax and stop striking, I'm sure yours will eventually too, I did find that picking her up from behind helped though.
