I never lived in dorms but all schools are different. Just wanted to make sure you had a plan. In the past young people have started a collection to find out it can not be taken with them so it's left with the parents. Usually the parents are not into it and eventually don't want to care for them. If your parents are snake people you are ahead there.

If you can, try getting your own apartment from the get go.
Some schools will allow freshman to be off campus.

Yeah i started looking around more and only found one that allowed snakes but only very small ones that can live in a 10gal and don't eat rodents( basically only garters and smooth and rough green snakes). I'm g looking for ones that don't require freshmen to stay in dorms, the original ones I was looking at did for the freshman year.

Not really sure, it would be close but I think it might be a little tight. I've got a pair of young macklotts and while they're longer, they're also more slender. However they're also fairly active. I'd feel better with a 4 foot cage for adult macklotts. Savu pythons on the other hand would probably be good. Another one that might be good would be irian jaya carpets, Morelia spilota variegata, which stay smaller then the other carpets.

Yeah. I was pretty sure that would be too small for one, hence the reason I asked. If love to have one but I'd rather not have a cramped, unhappy snake, and I want to put the viv I have now to good use rather than buying a new one. I'm not really a big fan of carpets but bredlis are the exception but this might be a little small for them...

Have you thought of Savu Pythons? They're a smaller subspecies of the macklotts and would probably work really well in that size cage.

look at the antaresia family. spotteds, childrens and stimsons pythons. they are amazing snakes, dont grow to more than 3ish feet(spotteds closer to 4) and are great display animals.

Do you think it's big enough for an angolan python or a rough scaled? Yes I know they're both rare(especially the roughies) and usually pretty expensive in the US but, as I said before price is not really too big of an issue.
