I found another apartment that is fine with snakes that we are still happy with so it's all good but it still sucks

Glad it worked out for you but still sucks you couldn't get the one you wanted.
On an odd/similar note, I just found out my apartment complex has a "no snake" policy but when I moved in over 2 years ago they didn't say anything about it and allowed me to move in with 5 snakes at the time. /lucky
