I have 2 parakeets, 1 amazon, 3 dogs, 2 turtles, 1 leo gecko, fish, and 6 snakes. They all get to be in the same room sometimes when my kids are playing with the snakes on the coffee table. The bps can eat the parakeets if they can catch them... but, it will never happen unless the parakeets decide to commit suicide and land on the open mouth of the bp. The amazon can eat my bps but, it will never happen because the amazon is not flighted and wouldn't go down to coffee table level because then the dogs will eat him. The dogs can eat the bps, the amazon, and the parakeets. But, they're well trained dogs and will only eat off their food bowls or off our hands. Besides, 2 are English Bulldogs who can't be bothered to move off their dog pillows to try mess with the other pets and 1 is a bichon whose main goal in life is to sleep on someone's lap. The turtle and fish and lizard are untouchable in their own condos.
In any case, we, people, are responsible for everybody in our care and would do everything in our power to not leave anybody unattended... which means... proper lids on the enclosures, proper locks on the bird houses, and crated dogs.
That said, we lost our very first bp once... I was new to bps and didn't realize the snake is strong enough to push open a screen lid with a metal clip... good thing she went and hid in a drawer less than 6 feet from his enclosure...
