It's so bad at my house that our five year old jokes about eating rat burgers..lol (He in absolutely no way eats rodents! you'd be amazed at what ignorant people would believe)
And Jason, if you get over loaded with rats, feel free to ship them out my way..lol

aw it's not that bad. when i was in college i was nice and really poor so i had to live in a pretty crappy apartment. i came home late one night to find the most humongous rat i have ever seen scurrying behind the refridgerator. so i set a trap for it the next night and caught it. well, i had just resigned my lease for another 6 months when this happened but i decided that if i could march into the apartment office with dead rat in hand, maybe i could get out of the lease without getting penalized. the only problem was that it was friday night and they were closed all weekend. so i packed mr rat up into a nice ziplock freezer bag and laid him to rest in the freezer for the weekend. maybe that was practice for frozen rat keeping. and yes, i got out of my lease with no penalty and got my entire security deposit back to boot. :P

I have a seperate mini fridge which I plan on using just for Rats. I'm sorry but putting rodents in the same fridge that I keep my pork in makes me wanna puke for some reason. I just can't help it.

iceman, i see one problem with that. its a fridge, not a freezer. it wouldnt keep it froe, just cold, dont ya think?

Good point, Jason! I had one of those mini-fridges when I was in college, and the only "freezer" it had was one little shelf that barely made ice cubes.

I don't have a problem with frozen rodents in the freezer. They're right beside the frozen chicken and the frozen cow, and the occassional frozen pig. I just keep them wrapped up nice and discreet. I can see why your Mom would be displeased though...that's a lot of valuable realestate that your rats are taking up! LOL

I find with those minifridges, if you set it to one of the colder settings, it will effectively freeze everything. I've ended up with frozen milk and juice (when I set it on the upper shelf right below the freezer section) many times without being anywhere near the coldest settings. Keep in mind, there's only one cooling element or whatever you call it; those fridges just expect that there will be enough of a temperature gradient within the fridge that stuff farther away won't freeze.

Oh, it's even better when you store them in clear freezer bags. It's a freakin' gas when your gramma comes over and goes in there to get a popsicle! That's priceless.
