One of my pinkies exploded at room temperature so it's not as simple! I also don't have a lamp I can heat it with so my choices are hot water or hairdryer. The hot water seems to work quite well for me with my larger feed items.

Pay no mind to him... everyone is dumb with no common sense according to him. I don't use f/t, I tried but it's a lot less hastle for me to feed live. I don't throw away money (for refused, or things blowing up, or leaking, yuck) but since it did it simply by room temp thawing, I might seek a different supplier. Something isn't right there

I think that particular pinkie may have had severely thin skin. I am bumping my little ones to rat fuzzies, the bee took a small mouse so hoping he will take a fuzzie. Going to switch my spider to rat fuzzies after a few feeds also and get my het gs onto small weaners when after the next feed I think.

The only explosions I've had with the larger items (small weanlings) was down to my own inexperience and using water which was too hot. i quite like my thaw in luke warm water in a baggy, then warmer water when thawed and hot water before serving or some blow drying to spread the smell. I have all night to feed my BP's and it seems to work for me :)

I think if I tried live i would end up with pets rather than prey items! Haha! Luckily mine all eat F/T.

Thinking of trying my pastel on a multi on her next feed (just the one feed) to try to kick start her eating as someone has suggested to me, her refusals and therefore waste of a perfectly good item, is starting to bug me. I know it's not unusual and I shouldn't be bugged by a few missed feeds but as she is still young I'd like her to establish feeding on at least a weekly basis :) She has only taken 3 out of 7 offerings. She is gaining weight which is great though, not too much to panic about yet.

Well, sounds like just some not-so-good mice! :/ I wouldn't think it's harmful... just messy.
