Okay. I just wanted to clarify that just in case anyone was thinking of putting their snake outside for hours without some place to hide. After all, pythons and boas are not baskers.

And you wouldnt want them to cook in the sun.

I only take mine outside for quick photo ops, since natural sunlight seems to be the best light for capturing their true colors. Here's Gobby out on the deck.

There are trillions of creepy crawly insects around here (it's a farm, after all" so I never take the snakes out on the lawn or anything. But I figure the porch is safe, as long as it's a nice warm day.

I let my Aragorn out about 1 time a week (weather permitting) to stretch out a bit. After I either let him go for a swim and dry him off or wipe him down with a wet cloth. I've thought about wiping him down with Reptile Relief each time, just in case he does pick up some mites.

The only time i ever took Andy outside, he tried to get down a chipmunk hole. Needless to say .. he's not going outside any time soon :)

rocky wont crawl through the grass like that, one time i took him outside and put him down and he got really scared and went into a striking position so i picked him up and he was fine again so i put him down and the same thing again, maybe he just isnt a outside snake. Was aragorn scared the first time you took him outside ??

It was cute the first couple of times I took him out. He stayed near me, basically in a ball. He'd sometimes do the periscope thing and look around, but didn't move much. But I'm wondering if it was because I had him in the shade and maybe it wasn't that warm to him (was to me). But even now, it takes him a few minutes to figure out what's going on and to decide to crawl about. Once he does he's very curious - good thing they're not fast!

yea, i take rex outside, but he doesnt leave my hands. ive took walks down the street with him, he dont mind to much, it doesnt stress him out at all, seems like he enjoys it. ill do it with adrian, too, when she gets bigger and calmer. and they are quite fast, at least rex and adrian are.

i was thinking about doing that yesterday but i didnt...and thats a good thing, if you saw my post in the venomous forum you would see what im talking about ;)
