Well I started a bit of negotiations with them. Now its a matter of them saying yes or no. I told them from what I can see adult male pastels are going for $$75-100. He wasn't hapy because he paid almost 200 for him when he got him. I also said that people are going for double gene and higher so they aren't paying as much or single gene. I can't push or it will all fal out bad. I hope they let me get them. Their financial situation isn't going to get better till they lighten the load some.

My friends are in a similar situation. They can't afford all of their animals, and even when provided with things, they are too lazy to use them. I offered to snake-sit, get her husbandry right and feed her a bit, fix her humidity problems, and I am now watching her. Perhaps you can offer to just take care of him until they get back on their feet? I know it sucks to have to let him go back, but perhaps they will realize he is in a better home with you and let him stay. But the first step is just to get him out of that situation. Good luck.

Well I entered negotiations. I told them adult male pastels are going for between $75-100. I also said they could come over and see him when I'm home if they call. I know where he is coming from about what they worked hard for going out the door because of financial straights. I know Ive been there but I also rebuild when I got on my feet again. I really hope and pray they let me get him.

Well I didn't hear anything yesterday, and I don't want to push and piss them off. I just wish they would miraculously say yes and I can start getting this dude sorted. I am about to start working on an enclosure for him. If they say no then I will go to the next reptile show and see if I like one there. I really hate to be this way but if they say no then I can't push and really alienate them. Maybe if I get a female again they will agree and let me "borrow" him for breeding lol. I just want to help them and him in my limited way. I will not take on their lizard they have. Its huge and mean (yes Im scared of a lizard lol). I know my limits.
