Name that Herp

I just got my first viper boa this afternoon. What a complete sweetheart. Maybe my girl's just unusual, but she's much sweeter than even my Ball. 10 minutes and she was curled up in my hair like I was Cleopatra. The coloration varies, but my girl (who as of yet hasn't been named until I know her personality better) has deep red speckles on her tummy and the most gorgeous golden-colored eyes. I haven't found much information on them, but as I'm about a year from entering graduate school for veterinary medicine (herpetology emphasis), the more species I get experience with the better. :D

I just have the one right now, she was already pretty stressed from the drive home and all the new sounds, so I wanted to keep the flash away from her face. She's snuggled up in her quarantine tank now until I can check her again for mites and make sure she's safe to be around my Ball. I really was amazed at the temper of this snake; I'm in the process of adopting a neglected Sumerian who's an absolute beast, so being able to handle a new snake without gloves is a big bonus in this little one's favor!
