Re: Burrowing BP
From what I have researched it works on aquariums and terrariums, wet or dry under the substrate. I have read some reviews amd some people think its great and some hate it. I am really thinking of using this in her enclosure instead of a uth. Also I'm not good at wiring things so all I do woth this is plug ot into the hydroset (the thermostat for it) and set the temp. I will also be getting 2 digital thermo hygrometer for the et up 1 on each side. If I do any loghts it will be for display purposes only not for heat, and 2 reptishelter 3in1 cave large. Plus decor to make it look realistic, and hopefully hold more humidity. I also plan to insulate 3 sides of the enclosure after putting on a background on those 3 sides.

There's no wiring with a uth and thermostat either...you plug the power cord of the uth into the thermostat then plug the thermostat into the wall or power strip.
Are you planning on using it the entire length of the tank?
I would not put any heat source directly under the substrate, some snakes burrow down in it

Re: Burrowing BP
I was thinking of putting some tiles from our bathroom project over the cable and then the substrate. That way she's not right on the heat if she burrows again. I took her out earlier and looks like she might be getting ready to shed. Her belly is going pink.

Bathroom tiles would be too thick... it's a lot of trouble compared to just getting the uth and thermostat
And you only need a hot spot. The whole tank can't be the same temp

Re: Burrowing BP
I would only do half the enclosure so she has a cool side and hot side. I really don't want to have lights except for viewing/asthetic purposes. Plus they lower the humidity too much. Ugh I really don't like uths because every time I get one it falls off then I have a fire hazard.

Make sure the bottom of the tank is clean before you put the uth on...
What is the ambient temp of the room the tank is in?
I really don't see the other working, the heat is goin to have to go through the thick tile then the substrate

Ambient temp right now in the living room os 78. In jer cage the temp in around 85. I can't wait fpr tomorrow. The humidity is about 50. I am keeping a sharp eye on it. I have that one heat pad under and a 60 watt on her till I can get to the store and get what I need. I might have to mist her moss this afternoon because she is getting ready to shed. Her belly was pink when I checked her last noght. I would like her to eat tomorrow before she goes blue. I just really need to get things stable in there for her.

Did you decide how you're going to do it? As long as you have the hotspot of 90 the ambient room temp of 78 will be fine and you won't need a lamp
