    I agree that he's probably hungry. My females get like that after laying because they are starving and trying to put on weight. You may need to up his prey size. Ball pythons aren't aggressive and they almost always calm down with age, I've never had one get "meaner". I also feed in the enclosure every time, you can't "train" them to be aggressive by feeding them in their enclosure.
