I have a ro/di filtration unit that I use for my salt water fish tank when i top it off or do a water change so whenever im changing my snakes water out I fill up a big bottle from my 30g tub. Is it necessary prob not but its no more expense to me so that what I do.

I think it depends on your city water!
I wouldn't buy bottled water (because I think it's a waste of money and plastic - for myself and my snakes), and I don't see anything wrong with tap water, if it is also safe for people to drink.
It may also depend on how many snakes you have. If you have a lot of snakes, it's going to be an aweful lot of work to filter all of their water!

I personally have a Brita water filter directly on my tap, which can be switched on or off. Because it is there and my partner wanted it, I use that for the snakes - mind you, I only have two.

I know sometimes people let tap water sit out for a few days, to allow unwanted additives to escape into the air... if that makes sense? Kind of like you might do for watering plants.

You are fine either way! I use tap water for my misting system, keeps the sides of the tank cleaner with less mineral deposit from the water, but other than that, your snake is fine either way. I just use some additive for electrolytes and change her water out every other day.

I actually have a N20 Water filtration system for my house. So as long as it is good for you to drink, your snake will be fine as well :)

If you want to be super protective, you could find out how much chlorine and stuff your city puts in the drinking water...

We have water that has lots of stuff in it. It leaves the worst hard water stains ever in bowls and on glass. So for that reason, and the fact that I only have one snake, I used filtered water, but I don't buy it in little bottles. I get it at the store in big containers. And if I have run out, it doesn't matter too much, I'll use tap water.

I Drink water from my sink, snakes can go up too a year with no food,I think they will be fine with faucet water. Point is there bodies way better equips then us. If that's what u want to do,then all good. Cause I onoccasion give my cats bottled water.

Tap water here too. We don't have a water softener either, that puts a lot of sodium in your water.
