Uuummmmm, I don't think so. Where did you get this stellar piece of information?

I agree with what Cody said.

Infected, please be carefull in what you say. A ball python in absolutely no way will ever expire due to no uv rays. They are a nocturnal animal, and many keeprs do not even use lights with them. And also please note that "dark" lights do not give off uvb. Please read up on UV lighting.

    That was witty lol.

Anyways, I myself am using an infared 60W in my ten gallon ... it keeps the basking spot at about 92-94 ... and cool side at about 80s ... mid 80s ... humidity is a problem with glass tanks .. you'll probably have to either cover a majority of the mesh top with duct tape or a damp towel.

Forget the glass tank. Im gettin a rubbermaid tub. lol. For the UTH heater do it put it inside the rubbermaid or underneith it. I think it goes underneith the rubbermaid. I've heard that they need 12 cycle or light then 12 without. Do I just shine a light at the rubbermaid so it kinda lights up or what?

Underneath only. Unless you're planning to breed a regimented light-cycle is not required (just let it be dark at night and thats good enough) - and as far as light goes indirect/ambient light is fine since you don't need to worry about UVA/B requirements - they have none. I've actually toyed with the idea of lighting our future rack via LED to draw less elec.
