    I had just got some rats to breed and I think he smelled them and that is why he came back I would try to get a rat or mouse keep in a cage where the snake went missing from when it gets hungry it will smell the food hope your snake comes back

    This can really help.
    I know people use buckets with funnels and food as well for overnight(easy to get in harder to get out) and have found the snakes fed and curled up in the bucket in the morning.
    Also, if you know where the snake is and is likely to come out dry rice grains on the floor at all possible exits might help with tracking the critter down if it finds it would like to explore on night and changes its' hiding spot.
