After that long unasked for post lol I learned from another breeder..I was buying a baby female and he popped it and I asked him how to pop :D

I've practiced twice over the course of a week on my two girls (my big male is in shed). And yes what you said is true. The leo girl I just got a bit of liquid, I think just scent stuff. The clown girl unloaded all over my shirt after I was done. Like rocket launched her urates so I didn't even know she did it for a few seconds.

I need to practice on a male. I don't feel like I'm getting enough out. Just little fleshy mounds. It seems like in the videos they have more out.

Females can "pop" fleshy mounds and scent glands. If you know its a definite male, then yes, keep practicing, but if you're identifying from scratch, you have to know what to look for. If it is a male, one thing I notice a lot of newer "poppers" do is start too close to the cloaca, try starting a little further down the tale and try to get a nice rolling motion with your thumb towards the cloaca and you'll get a nice pop.

Here are some pics I took a couple of years ago to help out another member with popping. Maybe they will help.

I was nervous my first couple times doing it. I'd just watch a couple videos if you can't have someone show you in person. That's how I learned, that and practice. I wouldnt do it more than a couple times to one snake in a day though. When you do it place you thumb in front of the vent pressing down firmly but not hard and I like to bend the tail down a little then starting about an inch below the vent roll your thumb of the other hand from the right side of your nail to the left side, again firmly pressing down but not really hard.

I taught myself by watching alot of vids. Both Justin and Ralph Davis's vids are good. I use the rolling method myself. Once you have it down, even adults are not hard to pop :)
